Corrections policy

A factual correction should make the public record clearer, not quietly erase the history of a material change.

What to send

Identify the page, the exact statement, the primary source that conflicts with it, and the date you checked that source. Do not send sensitive personal information.

How we assess it

We check the governing source, scope and effective date. A material factual error is corrected promptly; a disagreement in political judgment is assessed against the published method.

How changes appear

Substantive corrections update the reviewed date and include a clear correction note. Minor spelling or formatting fixes may be made without a formal notice.
